West Side Catholic Center

Background

West Side Catholic Center located in Cleveland received grant funds to purchase items and equipment to support the Family Services program for children designed to help children and their parents surmount the emotional, social, behavioral and educational barriers of homelessness. Grounded in Faith, Hope, Love and Respect for those served, West Side Catholic Center assists all who come to them in need of food, clothing, shelter, advocacy and a path to self-sufficiency. This grant application was endorsed by McDonald’s Owner/Operators Angelo and Susie Stames, owners of McDonald’s restaurants in Cleveland.

OneEighty, Inc.

Background

OneEighty, Inc., located in Wooster will receive grant funds to purchase items and equipment to support the new children’s therapy and safe room used by children while their parents are receiving mental health therapy and/or treatment. The mission of OneEighty, Inc., is helping people change direction by providing mental health and addiction services, prevention and education services, and housing and supportive services.

Battered Women’s Shelter of Summit & Medina Counties

Background

Battered Women’s Shelter of Summit & Medina Counties was awarded grant funds to purchase items and equipment to support the Teen Room project on the new campus of the Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center located in downtown Akron. The mission of the Battered Women’s Shelter is to lead the community in the prevention of domestic abuse by providing emergency shelter, advocacy and education throughout Summit and Medina Counties, all in an effort to break the cycle of abuse and help promote peace in every family. This grant application was endorsed by McDonald’s Owner/Operator John Blickle, owner of several McDonald’s restaurants in the Akron area.
