United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland

Background

United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland received grant funds to purchase therapeutic items and equipment to support their children’s therapy assistive technology and augmentative communication. The mission of United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland is to empower children with disabilities to advance their independence, productivity and inclusion in the community. This grant application was endorsed by McDonald’s Owner/Operator Meloney Karos, owner of several McDonald’s restaurants in Greater Cleveland.

Pegasus Farm

Background

Pegasus Farm located in Hartville, received a grant to purchase items and equipment to support their children’s therapeutic equestrian program and to sponsor the annual horse show. Pegasus Farm, established in 1986, is a horse-based healing and learning center dedicated to helping children and adults with disabilities achieve more productive and enjoyable lives. This grant application was endorsed by McDonald’s Owner/Operator Tom Locke, owner of McDonald’s restaurants located in Hartville, Akron, Canal Fulton & Canton.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland

Background

Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland received grant funds to purchase mobile cafeteria tables to support the Kids Café healthy lifestyle program at area Club locations. The hot meal program, “Kids Café”, is a partnership program with the Cleveland Foodbank and was launched in September 2006. The program has expanded into each of the seven traditional Clubs and provides approximately 100,000 meals annually in the form of a warm dinner during the school year and a warm lunch during the summer. The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland is to inspire and enable young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. This grant application was endorsed by McDonald’s Owner/Operator Robert Jursich, Jr., owner of several McDonald’s restaurants in the Greater Cleveland area.
